I had hoped to get up for this but had school related things on Saturday that I couldn't get out of. The format is intriguing - I wonder if starting/stopping is harder than just going steady at a slower pace for longer. It also makes route selection a lot more critical!

It definitely required a different sort of strategizing than regular rogaines. It was good training, physically and for O skills. I prefer the traditional rogaine though. I like the slower steady pace as opposed to scurrying around like mad for a few hours and then having to wait. I like the comraderie of a partner. And I'd rather focus on routes and navigation to controls than ways to beat the clock back to base camp. It's a good option for people who like to go it alone at really fast speeds. And for those who can sleep at any time when given an hour or two--a skill I don't have.

Aha--you just confirmed that Regaines aren't for me (as I suspected, based on Mark's descriptions...). I too prefer the slower pace.

To each his own, though; if some like the Regaine, let Mark continue to promote them.
