Close to straight to the north tip of lake 297. Then slight banana to almost the top of the green re-entrant, then straight line from there, noting the control is two re-entrants over from the marshy one.

is "banana" an official navigation term? because if so, I need to start using it more!

So the proper way of asking the question would be... how do I banana control #4?

Looks like the Swissies have strong opinions on the type of features where controls will be found.

#1 looks like the one that would give me the most trouble. #4 seems easy enough to find but there are some route choice decisions to be made in the middle.

Interestingly, I heard once that middle distance should be about navigation and not route choice. So, less need to look and plan ahead. Except, that is not so true on the longer legs of this course.

I wouldn't say it's not about route choice, it's that after selecting the route you should still need to navigate... (I think a good long distance also has this, but maybe less intensely). And where possible, a middle should have a longer leg.

#1, the big hill before it is the highest one around. Not saying it's easy, but not much harder than the others...

Reentrant! But yeah, #1 gave me some pause too - marsh right before is hopefully helpful?
