had those types of dreams many times. Actually, i asked once among O friends in the Swiss team and it seems like everyone has that type of dream once in a while. Getting to the start seems to be difficult for a lot of people in their dreams. Funny, huh!

Me too! I once had one that was a field hockey game and orienteering race combined. I felt very unprepared!

Of course now you will be better prepared after your O training combined with innebandy ;)

Yeah, I get those too, especially before important races.

=) Lotsa o-dreaming. Way of venting panic, I suppose! Other details of this dream- was sprint quali at WOC, and at least at some point during it, I thought I would be saved by Sandra in her super-preparedness as team leader, but then of course, I remembered that Sandra was actually *racing* (woo, a good part of the dream!) and wouldn't be there to help me out! Greg was there, actually, but his compass 1) was for the wrong hand and 2) was too big (like compasses have sizes??), so didn't help...

Do controls at Dream-O count in the quest of the 2000?

I have the orienteering nightmare often. Each time I am a course setter, it is typically the second day of a very large two day event, people are starting, and I haven't put out any controls yet.

I have had one many times, but fortunately not lately. I also call it my Hotel California dream. I am orienteering in a forest and everything is fine, until I come to a clearing. There is a building in the clearing, and somehow it seems a good idea to go through it, except then I am inside, and going up and down stairs, down winding corridors, finding controls that aren't mine, and periodically looking out a window and seeing where I need to go, but not being able to get out of the building.

Some help here, please, Sigmund.

My Sigmundian guess is that it is transference, and what really has you anxious is this.
