Glad to see you're feeling better - getting ready to help GHO kick butt in the relay at the Pig!

The exam was for the Ontario Internship positions you told me about. They went very well, a little too well... which worries me. I was applying in the communications stream, it was between that and the policy one. They said that they would be contacting people after the 15 for interviews, so wish me luck. I could end up working in downtown TO like you. I'd have to upgrade my clothes of course.

A few things:

You should try both policy and communications. Both are good OPS jobs with high pay and interesting and demanding work. Also highly transferable in both the public and private sectors.

You'll need at least four days worth of clothes. Monday is naked day. Come naked. Everyone does it, esp. interns on their first day at a new job. Honest.

Good luck.

I think I'll file fashion advice from cleaned up Deadheads in same spot as Swedish chat-up lines that Hans would give. "here, try saying this next time..."

For the OPS, I had to pic one stream and I went with communication as I'd be more interested in that down the road than policy. Plus, I really don't have strong provincial background, mine is all international policy.

Oh, they used to let you try three different areas for 4 months each. Communications will be good, but you're gonna be crackberried for sure.

Perhaps Hans and I could write you a little book to take care of both fashion and the ladies. An orienteering international policy wonk civil servant ski guy without cool O glasses probably needs the help of at least two smooth dogs like Hans and I. We're both married and even if it's enough to get through the ceremony you can't keep them drunk for the rest of their lives - there has to be something else that keeps them around. For me, it's naked day, Hans it's the foreign thing and Mike, well, it's the glasses.
