Note
my big goal of the fall is to get an official finish at the long course Minnegoat....I figure that will be plenty to shoot for running on a map I have never seen before that is supposed to be fairly technical....I think physically I will be able to handle it but the question mark will be navigation...big booms will stop me....hopefully, a few of us in the back help each other...should be an interesting event for me....
weight training 26:42 [3]
bands and dumbells...
3x20 curl, pull ups, stand tricepts, lay tricepts, mil press, chest pulls, lay flys, poles, stnd flys, not sure I remembered them all...
Orienteering 19:26 [3]
Thanks to Darryn for the OTNT....
looking to sharpen a bit with some map running before this weekend....
first of 3 mini score o "find the hilltop/depression circles" OTNT...did ok but still did not get into the map as much as I would have liked...
Orienteering 20:46 [3]
2nd OTNT section....half assed run in the dimming light...still was not in the map like I should be...
Orienteering 28:43 [3]
with the dark, a dim light, and the reading sport glasses fogging I am close to concluding that night O is not working for me...when the glasses where not fogged I still had trouble sighting the map with the bi focal and seeing contours....I basically jogged around and tried to find a few points before bringing it it...I could not see the terrain with the dim light, or line up the map in the dim light with the sport bifocal....but got some time in the forrest in which could not hurt.....
hopefully, the temps at the minnegoat will not fog my glasses and give me a good chance to finish under the time limit...would like to avg less than 20 min/k and get in under 5 hours for the Goat...with careful pacing (running on trail hiking off) and avoiding big booms this is a worthy goal for me....another would be to be under the winning time x 1.8...we will see....
