Hornby Island - Day 2 (Bender #2 recovery)

We had a better ride on the second day due to knowing which trails to hit and miss. Even caught the sun once, when we climbed above the clouds; was pretty eerie looking across to Denmen Island with the cloud blanket below us. Looked like a frozen lake in winter.

Mtn Biking long 4:45:00 [3]

Weekend of riding on Hornby Island with Romeo, Juliette, MtnMan, and Spiderwoman. We went to explore the fast single track XC riding that the island is famous for. For those out east... think the rolling pine needled floor sections of forested Hilton Falls or Dagmier, but >80kms of trails rather than short 100m spurts of it, Sweet!

Hammer - You would have been proud! This weekend was well beyond any bender I've participated in before. Made for interesting rides both days.

Paddling tempo 1:15:00 [3]

A quite evening paddle in the K1 on the Gorge with Romeo. Lots of boats out (or atleast a lot of blinky lights on the gorge). Probably due to the huge tidal difference tonight. Greatest difference in a long time, and the retreating tide through the narrows (under the Tilicum bridge) was wild! No word of a lie... there was full on white water due to the change in tide. Reminded me of the botttom of the falls at Elora gorge in Ontario. Romeo ventured in close, but I didn't dare as I'm just tippy on flat water. Made for a SUPER fast paddle out of the gorge.

Note

Congrats to all the Raid the Hammer racers. Loved the photos.

Meridian - the headband and the long-hippy hair are lookin' good.

Bash - What is up with the first shot at CP7? Someone's excited, Sweet!

SuperWes1000 - Same goes for the long curls.

Congrats to everyone and just wish I could have been there to take part.
