Running long 1:13:05 [3] 15.19 km (4:49 / km)
ahr:133 shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 15

Long run. Pretty tough after the previous night's effort. But good to get out there, and had a good run nonetheless. Went through the Bois, to Jardin, Champs, Alma-Marceau, river run, Ranelagh. First run with teh Garmin and it was a sobering reminder about how much I have slowed up, and about how I have been kidding myself in recent years as to how fast I train. Have always thought I ran at around 4.30/km, but seems it is closer to 4.40-4.45/km in reality. Oh well, need to readjust expectations. Also, can't seem to get my heart rate much above 135 bpm over the course of teh run. Will try some intervals this week and see what happens.

Orienteering race (Night Score-O) 1:30:00 [4] *** 11.0 km (8:11 / km)
shoes: Jalas

Night Score O in the snow. Very good event, with great atmosphere out in the forest - a granite forest near Nemours. Wuite hard as many of teh tracks and features were obliterated by snow. Managed to stuff up the transition between teh two maps (printed recto-verso) and headed off on a wrong "path" only to spend about 15 minutes of teh precious 1 1/2 hours blundering around the wrong gully system. eventually relocated and headed off to get a few of teh more accessible controls. As a result, didn't do very well overall, but had a good time nonetheless. Was very glad I didn't do the 3 hour race as had had enough by the time I was finished.

Running tempo 38:40 [3] 8.0 km (4:50 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 15

Great run in the snow in the Bois - beautiful day with lots of snow and light flurries still coming down. With David. Warmed up nicely and then picked up the pace for the last 5km. Felt nice and strong, although lower calves a bit sore afterwards.

Note
(rest day)

Scheduled rest day. Overloaded with work in any case. But snowing nicely outside and would have been great to run.

Running 51:40 [3] 10.7 km (4:50 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 15

Run in the snow in the Bois. Very pretty but very cold. With David and set a solid pace, although his GPS had us at around 4.40-4.45 for much of teh run - felt faster than that! Sore afterwards.
