Orienteering (Sprint model) 21:00 [3]

Walked about 5km down to the sprint model where they had controls out in a suburban block between old communist flats. Amber had designed us all a course to do. I'm still not feeling the best with my gum still sore and swollen, but I still enjoyed putting around to the controls. Felt a bit unfit, though! :)

Hiking (Kis-Tubes) 3:00:00 [2]

Tyson and I went for a walk up to the TV tower above Pecs while the others went to a training map (no room in the car for us to join in - but then we're not running WMOC!).
Quite a climb up through the town and then the forest on well marked trails. From the TV tower we went up the ridge to Kis-Tubes (another lookout) where we stopped for lunch, and then further up to Tubes. We didn't realise that at this point we were only 1-2km away from where the others were parked on the training map in the saddle below us! Then down, down, down through some farmland and outer suburbs back to town, racing a thunderstorm that was building above us.

Orienteering 50:00 [3]
(sick)

First run/walk in the forest with a map in europe! I've got an infected gum, that is making me feel a bit gross (bit of a fever and headache), but I couldn't resist going out with the group to a map near Pecs and also near the adventure race. Walked around the map checking out vegetation and different features and ran a bit in the open forest and along some tracks. I found a massive beetle with inch long pincers which made me wonder if we should be wearing steel caps in the forest...
After training, Amber, Sus and I rode a bucking bull. I lost some skin and Amber got some good souvenier bruises. The bull looked friendly enough, but it didn't like us sitting on it too much! :)

Run (Bled-Ribno-Selo) 56:00 [3]

Morning run with Tyson from Bled along to a little town called Ribno, then down to the river and along the river for a couple of km, then up to Selo, then up and down to Lake Bled and back up to our B&B. Beautiful scenery and a great crisp, sunny morning. Think we ran past the place in Selo where I stayed two winters ago (european winters), but I couldn't recognise it without all the snow! I love running along the mountain valleys looking up at the peaks - it's just so different from anything we have in Australia.

Today we drive from Bled in Slovenia to somewhere in Hungary I can't pronounce for a night before heading to Pečs. Tyson is excited about trying Hungarian salami!

Note

Paragliding!!! I jumped off the mountain last and was lucky to have a bit of sunshine and therefore a bit of lift. The guide I was strapped to was wrapped and flew up and up as far as he could manage above the jump site before we spiralled down to the paddock where Amber, Tyson and the driver were waiting for a perfect landing on my butt in the grass. Great fun. :)
