Running race 48:57 [5] 7.06 km (6:56 / km) +401m 5:24 / km
ahr:182 max:193 shoes: Mizuno Wave Harriers

English Schools Fell Running Champs

Knew it was going to be a tough race as could see winder hill, which isn't huge but is pretty significant and rather steep. Started at 1:15 quite late. did a reasonable warm up but probably should have done a bit more jogging.

RAN THE WHOLE WAY!! okay, it was very slow, one foot in front of the other on the way up. but that is one steep hill. knew that if i started walking i'd just keep walking so made myself run it all. plus the achievement factor :)
Lost quite a lot of ground to carrie on the way down and got overtaken by this girl from sedbergh, but not too bad as it was a pretty nasty downhill. felt really powerful on some of the flatter sections on the way up and down. At the end, was glad to finish, but think i could have done a couple more k of flat/gentle undulations. So stamina is good!
Really tired now, but not surprised as was over 85% hr for about 50 mins.
