ahr:150 shoes: Salomon trail shoes
On the Assabet River Rail Trail from Rt 85 to the Marlboro end and back. Screw shoes would have been a better choice, as the trail was about 80% crunchy old snow and about 20% exposed asphalt, with the occasional patch of clear, thin ice where the snow has melted and refrozen. On the outbound, it was slightly uphill with the wind at my back. On the return, it was slightly downhill with high wind in my face. I bobbled a couple of times on the ice, and then slipped once, landing on my L elbow and my head. Ouch.
I noticed a sign near Boston Scientific for a new trail around their property called the Sheep Falls Brook trail. I will have to explore there some time.
