With Nick and his new cycling friend and his wife, Michael and Merl. nice leisurely ride coffee at the Fernleigh cafe and then back again. Saw all the burnt out bush on the way up to Belmont and also along the track.

With Sandy this morning. managed to keep a fairly brisk pace. slowed down at the end to see the time trial runners finish. So we ran the last 400 m down to the beach.

This starts from North Sydney and winds around Sydney through Lady Macquaries Chair and then through Pyrmont and out through the burbs to Sydney Olympic park and a couple of circuits. My bike was a bit dodgy in the rear gear changing last time I went riding. This time it gave up the ghost completely and so I had to ride on the front change only. managed pretty well not too many hills. We stopped at Pyrmont to ask the bike mechanic if it was easily fixed and he said no so kept going, he did manage to fix it on a larger back cog this made it a bit easier. Beautiful day and a great ride!
