Mapping (Park) 2:55:00 [1] ****
weight:192lbs

UMSL.You might smirk at calling a college campus intense, but the nature of sprint mapping (lots of detail) and the concrete jungle of UMSL presented quite a few non-trivail representation problems. Obviously, it will not be that complicated for the competitors if I've done my job well.

Would have liked to go longer, but my hands were getting really cold (I hate mapping with gloves on, my manual dexterity is bad enough as it is.

Lots of excellent potential legs and control locations.

Note

I've taken the injured flag off, although I'll still need to be careful for the next few weeks. Mapping hardly qualifies as rigorous exercise, but it was three hours walking with no pain at all, so I think things are looking up.

Cycling (Road) 1:59:00 [2]
weight:190lbs (injured)

Over to Webster Groves and back.

Cycling (Road) 56:00 [3] *
23c

Needed an O-fix, so I rode the street bike-O course from 2004 on the Webster Groves map (1:20). It's actually pretty intense navigation if ridden briskly. Also got a reminder of how much better mountain bike brakes are than road brakes. Nearly blew through a red-light when I didn't get on the binders quick enough. It's been too long since I've been on skinny tires.

Cycling (Mix) 2:32:00 [3] *
(injured)

Forgot to weigh in this morning, but I'm sure I was heavy because Kate made Lasanga last night. After eating my fill, I ate what Baby-O didn't want as well.

So I figured I should try riding to work which turns out to be no small thing. You can read the details here.

Cycling (Mix) 1:38:00 [3] *

Ride home - if I still needed a reason after this morning to not ride to work again, I got it.

Easy spin on the trainer.

Gym (Cardio) 15:00 [2]
weight:192lbs (injured)

AM: Warmup on the elliptical trainer.

Gym (Weights) 30:00 [5]

AM: 3 sets, heavy, lower body only, still no squats (heel is much improved, but no point in aggrevating it right now). Also did some pullups because I'm tired of being a wimp.

Cycling (Trainer) 30:00 [2]

PM: Easy spin on the trainer.

4x1:00@pursuit pace, 3:00R.

Cycling (Trail) 2:29:00 [3]
weight:191lbs (injured)

From Mt. Plutonium through Lost Valley, Katy, and then about half of Matson Hill. Matson Hill was greasy in spots, which surprised me (I expected it would still be frozen). I cut that loop short because the semi-slicks weren't working at all.
