Old score course at Kirkwood Park (1:3750). Some of the woods were runnable already which bodes well for fall orienteering.

Over to park and back. Pace runs now start from the far side of the park so most of the distance was on grass.

Pace run. Hilly course and hot, but I felt OK. Hardest I've run in a while.

Photo-O at Tilles Park (1:5). This usually entertaining format (you figure out the control locations from pictures and then go out and get them) was a bit tainted by photos that were too ambiguous. (Dan Menehan dubbed it the Bogus-O). I had the fastest time of those who got them all but Dave Frei just went ahead and took the time penalty for a couple controls and beat me.

Meremac river from Kirkwood put-in up to the 141 bridge. Attempted paddling up the rapids above the bridge, but got turned sideways and dumped it. Lost my waterbottle and one of my shoes.

Easy pace, but it still felt hard. Seems like I haven't slept in a week. Oh yeah, I haven't.

8x800m@57s flying start, about 5 min recovery between. Used standard road bike (no aero stuff). Good day for it as it's not very hot and there was no wind. Did first one in 57.4 using the 53x12, but didn't feel like I was turning that gear well. Did the rest in the 53x13 (95 rpm) which seemed better. Time includes a fairly long warmup and short warmdown.

Note

I'll probably take a few days (weeks?) off since Kate is going into the Hospital today to pop out wee one. Hopefully I won't get too out of shape.

Was going to go longer, but felt really bad. No improvement after 10 minutes so I just turned around and went home.

Steady paddle on the Meremac from Castlewood beach down to Valley Park bridge and back.

Castlewood trails. Along river and up the steps, then Grotpeter trail through the hilly part of the park.
