Cycling long 2:30:00 [3] 75.0 km (2:00 / km)

As I'd missed the pete yesterday to go to the chief scientist's 70th birthday (held at 7.30am) I did the bilby saturday ride. Cotter-Uriarra again but the conditions were great, a bit nippy riding to anu to meet up, but fine from there. Pace was a bit slow out past stromlo but then picked up nicely. Plenty of spring in the legs so I made a good break on Mt McDonald. Somehow the slow group got together with us in the regrouping at the top of the climb, there was a semi successful attempt to get a pace line going along Uriarra road. I went off the front up the three sisters, but no-one was willing to follow so I got a good rest at the top. Cruised back and for some reason ended up at sfoglia - I think the viking might have shares in them.

Swimming 24:00 [3] 1.3 km (18:28 / km)
shoes: wetsuit

Lake swim, water was a bit colder this week and there was a bit more chop out towards the museum which adds another dimension of the odd mouthful of green gunge lake water when wave coincides with taking a breath. Pleased with the navigation, pretty straight there and back.

Running tempo 16:00 [4] 4.0 km (4:00 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS7

Post swim run, started fast to catch a bunch in front then kept going past them. For a third week in a row there was a formal at the museum - a constant stream of cars that will no doubt make a reappearance at summernats .

Cycling 1:20:00 [3] 42.0 km (1:54 / km)

Bilbys wednesday ride. Golf course again today in the fast bunch, was 2nd up the climb with most of the bunch coming to a dead stop at the bottom of the hill.

Swimming 1:30:00 [4] 3.2 km (28:07 / km)

swim squad, this was supposed to be a taper session for anyone doing the half ironman this weekend, but was pretty intensive for us slow-laners. had to drop to the back of the pack when the rubber bands came out.

Running long 1:35:00 [3] 18.0 km (5:17 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS7

Cockies long run on Majura/Ainslie, this week was a big turnout for the boys with shep, hoggster, rob, kez, grant and macdonalds with Al . Much warmer than last week and quite humid making it quite hard work. breakfast at satie? in watson got high marks, the wild rice porridge hit the spot. coffee was OK for organic non-slave labour but not deli marx standard.

Swimming long 23:00 [3] 1.3 km (17:42 / km)
shoes: wetsuit

Afternoon lake swim with the bilby's, was very calm and managed the swim in a straighter line than usual which made for a better time. Wtaer is getting quite warm so don't really need the wetsuit apart from its flotation properties.

Cycling 30:00 [3] 12.0 km (2:30 / km)

Ride to and from the lake
