Running race 1:29:12 [4] 15.3 km (5:50 / km)
shoes: asics GT-2150

Great NOSH footrace. This is the first time MaryMac or I have done this, and it was great fun.

Luckily the rain didn't come until the afternoon so we had a dry race - at least from the waist up. The track was wet with a series of mud and puddles at regular intervals so my shoes and socks and legs were a lovely grey colour from the mud. Some aspects were harder than I thought they would be - the track is quite rocky and narrow in parts; and others were easier - I kept waiting for the 'big climbs' that people at the start were talking about but they don't exist, just some short sharp pinches along the way.

I started about 2/3 of the way towards the back so it took me about 3km to get past the majority of the runners who were slower than me. I then settled into the run and tried to relax and enjoy it, and look at the views of Middle Harbour occasionally.

My km splits are all over the place due to the varying combinations of track width/rockiness/puddleness and the crowd in front:

5:20 (lots of people in front)
6:21 (lots of people in front walking on the narrow path)
6:07 (people starting to thin out)
4:48
5:26
10:41 (I missed the 7km sign)
5:27
7:07 (steep bits up)
8:11 (steep bits down)
6:56
5:09
5:58 (last of the hills)
4:52
5:22 (very narrow and winding through the scrub)
1:19 (last 300m)

Scored a Great NOSH mug in the lucky draw prizes, plus there were hot showers at Seaforth Oval so all was good.

Running 45:30 [3]
shoes: asics GT-2120

A run before going off to do some coaching at the Saturday O event at Red Hill. I ran from home to the end of Copland Dr then around the northern edge of Spence and Fraser, down to Fraser Primary, and then up to the top of Mt Rogers and home.

I have done a similar version of this run in the past, but today was a longer route and I was 5 minutes quicker than last time. :)

Bike - MTB 31:30 [3]

Ride from the ABSHouse to Acton Ferry Terminal. I was running a few minutes late so tried to ride a bit faster ... it doesn't seem to make the bike go any faster.

Running intervals 35:00 [4]
shoes: asics GT-2150

BL training run with Paul and Bryce. A 10 minute warm up to the National Museum then mona fartlek for 20 minutes: 2 x 1.5 min, 4 x 1 min, 4 x 30 sec, and 4 x 15 sec with equal easy in between. Finished with a 5 minute warm down.
6 PM

Bike - MTB 47:20 [3]
shoes: asics GT-2150

Ride from Acton to Jenny and Geoff's house in Duffy for Abominable get together. We had an excellent talk/discussion on sport nutrition by FatRat and colleague (whose name I can't remember), especially geared for everyone who is going to Europe in the next few weeks. Plus we had a stack (literally) of Turkish Pide for tea.

Run with the Cockies and friends from Al and Robs place in Civic. Basically a loop out to behind Parliament House then back. Very relaxing. Followed by delicious potato and leek soup and bread from Silo :)

Bike - MTB 51:30 [3]
shoes: asics GT-2150

Ride from home to Rydges in Civic for work planning day - this is day one of two days. I had my winter gloves on but my hands were freezing by the time I got there.

Best part was getting there early and going across the road to Urban Food for a fantastic croissant and a delicious coffee. Saw RobW heading off on his bike to work.
