Running long 1:45:00 [3]
shoes: asics GT-2150

Sunday long run from Hackett with Miss Jones, Frogga and Hoggster. Three of the four were appropriately dressed for the 2 degree temperature - one person turned up in a t-shirt and running shorts. We headed over the saddle between HH and Ainslie, and then onto the newly named 'Sunny' track which heads south from the saddle. This was to keep the Hoggster happy, and warmer. Down around the pistol club in Campbell Park then on the single track past the quarry to the top of Ainslie. I was pleased to keep up for the first 40 minutes, and to be not too far behind at the top.

We headed down, then over HH, and then straight up to the top of Majura. I made it as far as the locked gate before turning, but that is as good as being at the top so I will take it. Back down the zig-zag track to the cars. My time includes my short warm up before the start of the run.

Breakfast at Deli Marco where we were joined by Devil and Sanders after their half marathon which was nice. Breakfast turned into a bit of a debacle. The cafe was busy but they seemed very short staffed - after about 25 minutes they finally took our order, and then after about 40 minutes the coffee arrived, but after being there for over 1 hour with no food I decided that was long enough and went - I only ordered some toast. I think it will be a while before I vote for going back there. Boycott is now in place.

Orienteering 1:10:00 [3]
shoes: asics GT-2120

Running around Weston Park and Yarralumla putting out the controls for the Junior League event today. I thought I could get away without stands, but in the end a couple of controls really needed a stand to attach the flag so I had to run back which made the exercise a bit longer than planned.

Orienteering 20:00 [3]
shoes: asics GT-2120

Picking up some of the controls, and thanks to Stephen Melhuish, Valerie and Martin Wehner for getting the remainder.

Running 30:00 [2]
shoes: Asics GEL Trabuco (blue)

Jogging around 'Dodgy Rodge' picking up the reflectors from Wednesday night's O ints. It was quite damp and foggy and hard to get going, so I took a bit longer than I planned.

Running 27:00 [3]
shoes: asics GT-2150

Run to work. This is about 2 minutes quicker than previous journeys to work, although the time is very dependent on the traffic on Gininderra Drive - I had to wait for a minute to cross this morning. It had turned into an absolute cracker of a morning so I really enjoyed the run.
6 PM

Gym - strength and conditioning 55:00 [3]
shoes: asics GT-2150

Body Pump class at gym, with MaryMac for company. Jamie was away this week, but the woman who took the class wasn't too bad. Feeling stronger these days, so I should start upping some of the weights.

Bike - MTB 20:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GEL Trabuco (blue)

Ride home - I only had my running shorts and t-shirt so it was a bit cool on the bike. Great big full moon made it easy to see.

Bike - MTB 29:40 [3]
shoes: asics GT-2150

Commute to work, via Melba, McKellar, and a lap of Lake G, to make it a bit longer.
6 PM

Gym - cardio 53:30 [4]
weight:76.7kg shoes: asics GT-2150

RPM class after work, with MaryMac for company. I tried to work hard tonight, but enjoyed pushing myself a bit.

Orienteering 43:00 [2]
shoes: asics GT-2120

Putting out reflectors up on Mt Rogers for tonight's training. Grass seeds were a bit annoying, plus some of the mapping is still dodgy.
6 PM

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GEL Trabuco (blue)

Night O intervals on 'Dodgy Rodge' with MaryMac, Miss Jones, FatRat, Mace and Beth.

Warm up was running from home to top of Mt Rogers (9:42) and then four intervals of about 1.2km each, with 19 controls in total. Efforts were:

7:59 (I managed to run to 18 first rather than 1)
10:43
7:46
9:13

Then after a few minutes of de-seeding while sitting on the path at the finish, we jogged back home and had yummy pumpkin soup, bread, roast potatoes, mushrooms and roast capsicum for tea. I really enjoyed the training and the company.

Bike - MTB 1:01:00 [3]
shoes: asics GT-2120

I rode with MaryMac to ANU, then continued on through the uni to the lake, then over Commonwealth Ave bridge and around to Yarralumla. I was going to check control sites before finalising the courses for the first Metro League event which is on this coming Saturday.

Note

Spent about 90 minutes pottering around Weston Park and Yarralumla. Worst part was I found a nice new uncrossable fence bounding a large area near the park entrance - so I had to spend time doing some map corrections.
11 AM

Bike - MTB 1:05:00 [3]
shoes: asics GT-2120

Riding home from Weston Park via GG's, Scrivner Dam, GDE, Aranda, Lake G, and McKellar. My left foot was numb - combination of getting wet walking through the long grass at Weston Park and the lack of sun and a cool breeze.
6 PM

Running 34:00 [3]
shoes: asics GT-2150

Run home from work. I didn't have a light so took a slightly less direct route to try and stay on the less dark paths and roads.

Running 33:20 [3]
shoes: asics GT-2150

Run from Mary's mum's place in Waitara. From Waitara station I just ran east through Waitara and Wahroonga for a bit over 17 minutes, then turned around and ran back. I was feeling a bit stiff and sore at the start, but after about 15 minutes I felt much better. Only downside are the clowns who plant out the grass verge, between their fence and the gutter, with gardens. They look nice but it forces you onto the road. Mary says we should just run through and not worry.
