Cockies run from Hackett. Followed low flat route around bottom of Mt Ainslie, then up track to summit. I took up my usual position at the back, but had Felicity to follow this week to help keep me going.

From the summit most of the group turned onto the rocky path that runs parallel to the road, but just below. I continued on down the road with Shannon and Felicity. Apparently Grant was racing us - but he packed it in when he wasn't going to win (mind you he had already done Majura with RobW, and he was heading back there).

My right knee was sore running down the hill to the saddle so I decided to skirt around Hackett Hill on the flatter paths. Ran to near the cars then turned right up the main trail. My aim was to run to the water tanks or until I met someone coming the other way. Nearly made it but met Felicity coming down the track so I turned around and ran back with her to the cars.

Stayed and chatted until the others finished, then joined them at Deli Marco in Dickson for coffee and breakfast. Shep recommended the cinnamon toast and it didn't disappoint. Nice coffee too. Will have to go there again.

An out and back run from home to Barton Hwy. I waited until the lightning stopped before heading out. It started raining about 15 minutes from the end and just got heavier. It's still a novelty to run in the rain these days.

Feeling stiff and sore from tumble last evening, so went on an easy ride with Robert around eastern and central Lake BG. Ended up at bakery in Manuka for coffee. Coffee was fine but the bakery has gone up-market (I don't think they bake there any more) which means the range of pastries has gone way, way down, and the prices have gone way up. A bad combination.

Run at Mulligans Flat. I was really enjoying the run - it was just before sunset so the temperature was perfect, the forest was quiet, the kangaroos content to watch me run by, etc. and then I tripped on a root and did a slow-mo splatt into the dirt. There was a bit of blood and some jarring, but otherwise ok. Since I was near where I was going to turn back, I did. Started feeling better after 5 minutes, and the last 15 were good.

Early evening run from edge of Aranda. Started on small paths and fire trails around Aranda Hill. Crossed into Black Mt then up to circumcision track for a loop. Back down through various tracks and finally over the GDE on the Aranda bridge - and the path on the bridge is covered in that soft spongy rubber that they put under kids playgrounds - nice on the feet. Made it back to the car just as the last light was shining on Black Mt tower.
