Well - thought 7 days of rest was enough to give it a try (oh - there was some sort of illness in there as well...). Just wanted to see how easy things moved, and it was ok. After 2 miles though the rib area was making itself known, so this was the right distance. mile split of 8:55 after 5:45.

Started well - had an 8:18 mile split five minutes in. Was on heightened ice alert, and still took a spill. Track shows the left foot slid 2 meters after planting on the sidewalk suddenly completely flooded from side to side with an inch of water and black ice frozen over covered with sprinkles of snow...

Stayed up on the left - when the right came down that's when I upended - and slid 3 meters along.

Managed to somewhat break-fall on the right side - leg and forearm, hip and shoulder, then chest - kept the head off the hard stuff. Pretty sure the ribs will be sore.

Dusted off and decided I didn't need to finish running and walked back home.
