running 57:35 [1]

I was going to do the long river run, but my ears got really really cold running down Island Park so I stayed on the side streets to try and avoid the wind. Worked pretty well except when I went on a street heading north. Then it got chilly willy!!!

strength 6:00 [4]

I needed just 6 more minutes to keep my 7hrs a week going, so I just did 200 sit-ups and 3 sets of 10 push-ups.

Note
(rest day)

Has a forced rest day because I had absolutely no time to get out and do something. We did play games in gym, but nothing too intense to count as training.

X-country skiing (circuits) 1:00:00 [3]
rhr:15min

Did circuits again since there wasn't any snow and we ran some more stairs... sooo much fun... not really

running tempo 24:00 [3]

Did a really quick run before dinner just down to Hampton Park, to Richmond, and then back up the stairs.

strength 36:00 [4]

Did 100 sit-ups inbetween each of my excercise thingymadooers. Did the push-ups again, 2 wall sits, 50 calf things, sit-with-your-legs-in-the-air for 30sec, 15sec recovery. Oh ya, and a bunch of lunges with weights and jumping up will high which kills...

school sports warm up/down 40:00 [2]

Did 5 laps of the gym and then the stretching, but the best part was when we played this game like ultimate, excpet you use a football. It was sooooo sick!!!! We played that the whole period but there were 4 teams so I wasn't on the whole time...

strength 35:00 [4]

Incorporating core training into everyday life: folding laundry... Did lunges while folding all of my clothes which was interesting, but the worst was doing a wall sit while folding socks, and I had quite a few socks!!! :( Did a bunch of sit ups and then lay on my back while holding my legs up for 30sec with 15sec rests. That's really hard on the abs!!! Finished it off with 4 types of push ups 10reps 2 sets.

running 39:37 [2]

Did the Island Park river run but I got really bad shin splints and knee achiness that I had to run on their expensive lawns just off of the side walk. Hehe, I don't anybody caught me...
My hip is getting a lot better and I'm really starting to notice a difference. Hopefully it will be 100% or atleast 99.9999999% by the time I actually get to go skiing, if ever!!!

school sports warm up/down 35:00 [2]

Played this really weird game that was soccer and basketball all mixed into one. I didn't enjoy it that much. Another game kind of like capture the flag except in the gym, and my favourite, a rousing game of fireball!!! At the beginning of class, we did 4 laps of the gym and stretching. (By the way, gym is actually 1hr 15min, but I can't count all of it as physical activity, because it isn't...)

strength 20:00 [5]

Did o a bunch of core work outs with Eric last night at like 11:30pm, but it was still fun. He showed me all of the things that he learned from karate. Some really good stuff too!!!

orienteering 1:06:50 [3] ***
spiked:8/11c (injured)

Did the permament course up at Cité des Jeunes with the juniors and some other orienteers from the club. It was pretty chilly but after a few controls you were warmed up which is pretty good seeing as it's January 7th! Control 1 was in the wrong spot but you could see it from where it was supposed to be!? Control 2,3, and 4 I all nailed but only with a little bit of confusion on 3. Control 5 was inbetween 2 small hills to the right of a larger hill. Came to the 2nd hill and went up the side of that to try and figure out exactly what hill I was on seeing as there were 3. 6 was a beautiful leg because running through the woods there were a ton of things that you could locate off of.Run between 2 swamps, past a hill, past a large swamp and cliff, and then finally over the top of the last hill into the the re-entrant. 7 was good too because you could just run straight down this large saddle. 8 was just grueling because the control was right on top of this 5 contour hill which was the same with 9 except there was a re-entrant that helped a little bit. Was a bit too far to the left on 9 and had to contour along the hill until I got to the cliff. From 9 to 10, I had to cross over this ditch/trench/stream to get to the trail, and the only way across was this tiny brich tree laid across. Man, that was intense! ;-) Coming down the hill to 11 was really really rugged with lots and lots of rocks but the control itself was easy. Just over an hour, so next time I'll try and get just under an hour.
