school sports (field hockey tournament) 2:00:00 [2]

Had my first tournament and it was cold, rainy, and very wet. For our first 3 games I played for 1/2 and then the 4th, for almost the whole game which was fun. We lost 4-0 to this Kingston team who were really good so I guess it was ok. Our second game I think we played against Earl of March and only lost 1-0. Then finally on our 3rd game where we played SRB, we tied 1-1. YAY!!! Our 4th game didn't go so well, but I definitely played my hardest which is why I stayed on for pratically the whole game.

cycling intervals 45:00 [3]

It wasn't too hard to get out of bed, but still 6:00am is pretty brutal. It was an interval class which I haven't had in a while, but it was fun. Did a bunch of sprinting seated and standing which was tough. We also had a 6min hill which wasn't too bad, but still tough since it was level 7.

weights 30:00 [5]

We stretched for a bit, and then we got this 1 day training program thingymadooer that we were supposed to do for the rest of the class. Did some dumbells and a lot of arm stuff. It's really freaky when you're doing some exercises and your muscles start twitching. But all of them with 10reps with 3 sets. The one where you lie on your back and then push up 15kg is really hard. The first set is pretty easy, the second it feels heavier, and the third is really hard!!!

running tempo (x-country practise) 45:00 [4]

Ran down to the beach again and did more loops which was a lot of fun!!! I felt really strong the whole way!!! The midget girls (me) were supposed to do 6 loops, but when I was passing the coach, he asked if I was doing 15, so I said, "sure." Although I only got to 8 because then we had to get back. The run back was intense!!! Ian Donald led the way and ran us sooo hard!!! It was almost painful, but I still enjoyed it a lot. After the practise, Mr. Fischer asked what category I was in, and when I said midget, he didn't believe me. I think that he though I was a very short gr 12 because he's never seen a gr 9 run like that. Hehe, that's pretty funny. :-)

weights warm up/down (yoga and weights) 1:00:00 [1]

Thankfully, instead of doing core, we did some yoga with some pretty funky music and then some weights. Did this leg press thingymapusher with 90lbs of weights along with the slider thing's weight which was an accomplishment.

cycling hills 45:00 [3]

First class of the year and it felt pretty weird to get back on the bike but I really enjoyed it. We had a strength class along with a 25min hill!!! That was hard but I definitely got my money's worth!!! Another class Friday except at 6:30am!!!

weights (phys. ed) 50:00 [5]

Some more core which was painful. I hate the way your abs start burning after a bunch of sit-ups, nothing like running. After that, we did this "fun" fitness thingymadooer. It consisted of flexibilty, endurance, strength and some other sections. For endurance we had to do 2 different jumps 200x and then jump on each foot 50x. Another one was running on the spot for 2 min and then holding your breath for 30sec. I pretty much sucked for flexibilty, it never really was my strongest point, but strength was painful. We had to put our head on a bench, then without using our hands, keeping ourselves off the ground for 30sec. Doesn't sound that hard, but it is!!! Anyways, wouldn't call it fun, but it was an experience!!

running 45:00 [3] 5.5 km (8:11 / km)

Made it to a x-country practise and we ran down to the tennis courts and back. The first 2km were pretty slow, maybe a zone 2, but once we got to the 1/2 way point, we pushed it up to zone 3. Then the next aobut 5 blocks it was zone 4. And finally the last 3 blocks were full out sprinting. Pretty good practise, and about what I have to run for the race. Well, maybe 2km less, but if I go at those speeds, I think I should do pretty well.

running (field hockey) 20:00 [3]

Had our 2nd field hockey practise and did some running which was a lot of fun. I think I'm the fastest out of all the girls because they were getting pretty tired after 4 times across the field. I think field hickey will be fun because it involves a lot of running!!!

weights (phys. ed) 45:00 [5]

Had our first day in the weight room and did a bunch a weight lifting and some core!!! Now my stomach is soooo sore!!! I haven't really done a lot of sit-ups or push-ups, so I'm not used to it. I can't say that lifting weights is my favourite thing to do, but it's a change.

orienteering race 1:08:00 [3] *** 7.0 km (9:43 / km)
spiked:9/12c

What a brutal race!!! The whole course except for 3 controls was in this field. Now, this field is usually eaten down to short grass by the cows, and the combonation of a lot of rain and no cows, made it about thigh high!!! Very tiring to run through!!! I had a good start to the race, only a small mistake on control 2 but then came the field. I was doing pretty well until control 8. I had passed my dad twice, and had taken side routes around the field through the woods which was better, but then from control 8 to 1/2 way to 11, it was all through the field. I walked practically the whole thing because I was just so exhausted!!! What's really sad, is that the best time was 44min!!! That's crazy!!! I would've had to run the whole thing and still I wouldn't have gotten under 50min!!! Oh well, maybe I'll just have to brind a few cows with me next time. ;-)
