Roller derby 38:00 [1]

Ok logging even though I'm not caught up yet!

- short session, toe stop work, also on astroturf, also some skating and jumping

practiced jumping higher on astroturf, then went to the basketball court and did the highest jumps I've done so far on skates!

Also toe stop stuff, but forgot a lot of it.

strength 12:00 [1]

Strength, including some bouncy things on half bosu balls, single- and double-leg leg press, also some arm things when I was waiting for the leg press to be free. I think it was ~210 lbs for double legs, ~70 lbs for single leg. Was at ~90-degree angle, first part closest to my chest was the limiting factor.

Note

Summary of the last few weeks:

- Played in my first tournament with my team, "Attack of the C-squads". It's for teams with mostly newer-level skaters, and it was a great intro to playing with everyone!
- Got sick, still having trouble working sleep schedule out w evening practices + 9am class. Hard to get de-adrenalined from evening practice in time for bed!!! Was sick enough to use Nyquil last night though, and ended up sleeping 10 hrs.
- Getting ready for my main conference of the year next week, have poster almost ready, RAs set up to collect data on a different project while I'm gone, and working on a follow-up anlaysis on an old project that would be helpful to have before a networking meeting I'm having.
- I've been going to a thing called "power skate" lately, at an indoor rink w a wooden floor. More endurance-focused than regular derby practice, and it's great for practicing explosive starts and going fast around slippery corners!

Other update: I got a thing where I pay $20 this month for unlimited $1.99 Uber rides, and it works on any ride up to $25. As much as I'd like to not support Uber, it's been soooooo helpful this month, especially for those $10-$20 rides to Sunday practice! Interested to see if Lyft starts offering something similar.
