Tourne Park Red course from last event there, which was in 2009. The woods have gotten greener and there's more deadfall. Otherwise though, it's still a fun map to run on. I dressed well and was only bothered by cold winds on the Northern hill sections. There was about an inch of snow on the ground. Legs didn't have great energy today for some reason. I need to orienteer more often and practice reading ahead, and visualizing what's coming up next.
Course took almost exactly an hour, 12 warm-up and 3 min cool-down.
I saw a fox!

Note
(rest day)

Ye, totally overslept this morning... I find it strange now to take showers without exercising prior. But, I had to evaluate three "soap" samples, so shower it was. The current issue I'm having is that the bar feels great while in hand, very smooth surface, but this is causing a reduction in flash foam (how fast foam generates) due to lack of friction when applied to the body. There is a trade-off between the luxurious feel of the bar, its overall structural homogeneity and foam. Traditional soap does not have this problem. Now, men won't notice this as much due to bodily hair providing the helpful resistance but women would suffer in the user experience. :/ Ottoke, ottoke?

Running 20:00 [1] 1.6 mi (12:30 / mi)

Preserving my sanity and running on a treadmill. Although, now I question my sanity considering I hate running indoors.

Dressed warm this morning and headed to the track, which had an inch of fluffy pristine snow on it. I love being the first to mess up clean snow. Did 10 x 200 m reps with 100 m rest. The minimalist trail shoes I wore provided good traction in the snow. Tough work-out as it was hard to breathe in this cold weather. Also did 5 min of stair exercises afterwards.

Wimped out from going into the snow in such frigid T's, tomorrow, though I'm doing it! Glad to see real winter arrive to NJ. Jogged on the treadmill, blah.

Yoga 45:00 [1]

Since I decided to not commute to Brooklyn in the snow today I had extra time to bake granola bars and do yoga, plus plan some course stuff for the highlander... ye it's happening! (if all goes well).

In other news, today marks the 15th year of my habitation in this wonderful country :)

Snowboarding 1:00:00 [1]

Half day today. Snow overnight progressed into morning rain with warmer T's, yielding lots of fog and scaring most people from the mountain. Not us though; condition of the snow and glide was surprisingly decent. I fell a bunch of times because I was trying to learn how to jump, but all falls were not harsh and probably beneficial for improving.
