Running 45:00 [3]

Verona park. This was supposed to be my recovery run but I wasn't sore at all from last night's race, just showing that it wasn't full effort. Therefore, today I gave it a strong push and did two loops in the park with some jumping exercises and pull-ups. If I raced today it would have been better, the weather yest. was not ideal for me.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Warming up on the course, feeling out of energy

Running race (XC) 24:10 [4]

Decided to give a try to the Morris Plains Central Park weekly 5 km race series. I won't be doing this every Wednesday but maybe once in a while.. The course is fairly flat, grass, trails, gravel. It has one hill, which is hit twice since there are two loops. It was muddy from the rains and my Nikes didn't hold up very well. The weather was hot and humid today, to which my body is not used to yet. From the warm-up I knew this 5 km will be a struggle, both physical and mental. I couldn't open my stride at all, no energy, dead legs.. That wasn't enough, however, my gut decided be a suicide bomber in rebellion against tyranny and wanted to blow itself up. I didn't let it of course, but mentally, this fighting was draining. Overall, I'm disappointed with my time, I know I can do much better.. But for the first 5 km race in 4 years, I'm not terribly upset.
