shoes: Inov-8

Starting out the weekend training at Pawtuckaway with a red course on a hot and very humid afternoon. Navigating well in the beginning but then just not feeling great in the middle of the course, nauseous and dehydrated. Let myself slow down, no motivation, slugging to the finish.

Canoe-O with Alex. All I wanted to do was swim.

Night-O! I was a little apprehensive before the start but this turned out to be a great experience and a lot of fun. Wanted to stay with Alex for the majority of the course but already at #1 I lost her :/ I cried a little and then continued on with JJ and other people to #2, leading the way, which felt nice. To #3 as well, moving well and getting to the control with only minor hesitation. Saw a bunch of lights to the right of the control and after I came to the trail, Sagi has caught up to me, probably after making a mistake at #3. We ran together and took #4 well but ran right by #5 and had to relocate. Ben caught up to us on the way to #6 and we accepted him into our group even though he tried to pull away. Decided to take Ben's plan crossing the pond in the middle on our way to #8 and although this was a good route choice, we did not execute it well and traversed a marsh and some greenery unnecessarily. After we finally got to the trail, we hit #8 without a problem. Trail to #9, picking safe attackpoints, 10, 11 Ok, saw JJ again. I was really tired by this point and just let the boys "carry" me to #12, at which point they dropped me and ran away to the finish.
