Adventure Race race (Sprint race) 8:11:00 [5] 50.0 km (9:49 / km)

SAC Bon Echo was a very tough race as AR sprints go......
We struggled in the paddle due to Shifty slip sliding around on his knee pads and we were front heavy and plowing a bit and so lost time but we still were in sight of the top teams at the end of a 2:15 minute paddle running about 10th.
A quick bike and we headed off into what was a challenging and fun trek....especially with CP6 almost a km out of position. We reached CP6 in '7th' but as it was out of position and some teams skipped it altogether - and the organizers are recalculating times it all means very little. This was despite a minor nav mistake that cost us 10-15 minutes of retracing some distance along Trudeau lake to the South-East. From 6 to 6A we did OK but a real poor root choice from 6A to 7 plus we didn't nav that section very well probably cost us 45 minutes. Despite all that I expect we will be close to top 10 when the organizers finish calculating everything which isn't bad for a strong field of 100 teams.

Wildlife watch - while swamping between 6 and 6A we got very close and personal with a 18" snapping turtle who didn't seem very afraid of us - we got within 3 or 4' before he dove....

Run tempo (Road) 39:54 [4] 8.25 km (4:50 / km)
ahr:180

Ran the road route hard this morning to see how my pace is coming along. Still no Shifty or A-man but its coming along.

Bash: treed a raccoon and saw 2 bunny rabbits

Weights (Upper Body/Core) 58:54 [3]
ahr:127

Good hard upper body work-out with a good core set. Make up for skipping it yesterday.

Cycling (Trainer) 1:02:08 [3] 33.9 km (1:50 / km)
ahr:135

Took a few minutes to get the legs going but they road in well and I felt real good after 10-15 minutes of warm-up.
