Note

I had a blast at the US team training weekend. Thanks to Alex and everyone else who helped set up controls. I'm obviously still struggling with a lot of basic aspects of my orienteering but the more controls I manage to find the better I get, and the training weekend was good training both physically and mentally.

Also, note that my orienteering log entries are generally imprecise - I don't use a Garmin and I'm estimating my distances by the time I spend out there and my perceived pace.

The second part of the O-tervals. I became very lost a few points and eventually hiked back, no idea how far I went because I backtracked so often. I think I hit the wall after control 12, not in the sense that I couldn't run, but that I was hungry enough that I couldn't think straight.

The Brown X course from US champs. I ran the first few then got very lost on control 3 until Ali came by and said it wasn't there. I moved on and got extremely lost on one of the controls and then was tired enough that I decided to hike the last few. When I was hiking I went directly to each control.

Run up and down the plateau for the afternoon training, cut short because I got a ride back from Alex on the way back

Night-O - I found the first control and the finish. I got very lost around the second control and couldn't reorient successfully partly because of the darkness, partly because I was so tired, and eventually decided I need to head back to get some sleep.
