shoes: Inov8 mudclaw 300

Scottish 6 Days Glen Affric North
almost clean, time losses calculated in seconds, hesitation where I slowed to check the map/terrain, tracks didn't always lead to the controls so you had to leave them, for example at #1, where I caught JD and Fraser Purves, but couldn't keep up with them on the long leg - I was stumbling around in the tussocks. Saw Fraser running the wrong way into #12 and then - finally - zoned in on Frostbite approaching #16, passed him after punching the last

Scottish 6 Days Glen Affric South
I'd heard this could be rough, but did the course have to be so long ... for an early starter this was about survial, good 'run' technically, but some route choice errors and misfortune in finding windblown and green, wish I'd sat it out, frankly

56th, whatever

shoes: Inov8 mudclaw 300

Scottish 6 Days, Darnaway West
better, reached #3 before both my 1min and 2mins men (Andy Thorpe and Fraser Purves), just about kept them in sight until #7, and once the elastic broke, bingo, a mistake, couple of route choice errors and a poor exit from one control, but a good race on the whole, pace dropped on the way to #11, knackered

Scottish 6 Day, Darnaway East
disappointing, felt good, ran quite well, but it seems I was off the pace, not to mention missing at #2 and #4, still great orienteering

shoes: Inov8 Oroc 340

Scottish 6 Days, Glen Strathfarrar
tough going, had hoped to attack the course today with a late start but the delays and the sunshine didn't help, very slow through 1-3, forgot my glasses but got away with it

34th (14th GBR), 14mins behind (beat JD by nearly 2mins)

Scottish Day Two Glen Strathfarrar

Orienteering race 1:10:58 [5] 8.0 km (8:52 / km)
shoes: Inov8 mudclaw 300

Scottish 6 Day, Achagour
reasonable performance, not fast, lost of little mistakes

#1 attacked from S of green but didn't pick up marsh, stayed south
#4 saw unmapped semi-open slowed and visited another control
#5 messy route into flag
#7 lazy, sucked towards control at copse west of where I should've been
#13 tried to be safe going picking up paths by the buildings followed phantom path into gorse and had to attack through marsh, slow
#14 confusing/incorrect paths missed left
#15 thought I'd found path, but ended up in marsh
#16 hesitant, drifted north after end of green lots of gorse
#22 followed path, but Jon Cross went straight and overtook me
#24 slow/hesitant

41st (12th GB), 17mins behind Logue
