Orienteering 1:19:23 [3]

Very very tired after yesterday. walked a lot of the course. No big mistakes except at 5 where my approach was too low and parallel features were encountered. Mapping in the area also deemphasised the biggest features. A lot of other people were having trouble here

Hockey 1:23:00 [4]

Grand Final against a new opponent after beating our nemesis of the last two years in the preliminary final. It was 1all in the home and away games so a tight contest was expected.

Although we looked confident before we started it looked the opposite in the first 15 minutes where we could not trap a ball. A comedy of errors saw them get the first goal. Even contest to half time with score 1-2 against. It continued to be a tough affair. I struggled a lot due to the flue.

Things were not looking good with 10 minutes to go when I got hold of the ball midway and carried it into the circle while being chopped by the opponents stick. We scored of the subsequent short corner.

With 2 all at full time we went into a sudden death playoff. Not some thing our aging muscles were looking forward to. Not long after a brilliant save on the line by our goalie we turned attack into defence and scored with 2 minutes to go.

At the end I was spent and subsequently there was little euphoria
Final score 3-2 our way
