Cycling 3:05:16 [4] 80.1 km (25.9 kph) +556m

Ride clockwise round the river via the freeway bike path (every year getting rougher). Initial help from a north easterly. Met with the Frogs at Peppermint Grove for coffee. Dallied too long here. Last part of the journey way too hot to be riding

Cycling 1:22:47 [4] 39.7 km (28.8 kph)

Felt like hard work all the way, however this is the best time for this route since April last year despite the head wind on the way back.

Event: Karri Cup

12 PM

MTB 1:21:22 [4] 23.01 km (17.0 kph)

Bannister Downs to Boorara Tree

Hot and dry. Large patches of Bull dust every where made it difficult to see the ground when close to any group. Usual problems on the early single track where there is always some on walking and bringing everything to a halt. Slippery on corners made me a lot more cautious (slower) than previous years.

MTB 1:35:02 [3] 25.5 km (16.1 kph)

Boorara Tree to Northcliffe

Very comfortable on this leg - enjoying peddling past people pushing their bikes up hill. Held back most of the way keeping energy in reserve, unnecessary in retrospect as I finished with plenty in reserve. Finished 40th out of 160 and 6th out of 31 in the over 50 class. I was only 2m behind 3rd. Could have done more hill training. 6m slower than last year
