Aerobics 2:00:00 [4]
shoes: Easton Cross Trainer

After about 15 years, I decided that it was time to upgrade my programmable thermostat. I put in a new thermostat yesterday and for some reason the house feels colder today. My old thermostat only displayed in F, so perhaps I miss calculated when I programmed the new thermostat. I knew that the house was probably too cold when this morning, I found the butter that I left out on the kitchen table was just as hard as the butter in the fridge. Burr!

Snow sports 2:00:00 [3] 20.0 km (6:00 / km)

I was suppose to teach my nephew how to snowboard this afternoon. However, my sister called late this morning and said that he was sick with either a bad cold or the flu. Knowing that I have a free afternoon, I was going to start looking for a job. While on my computer, I read some entries in AttackPoint. I read about how some people were sick and some were updating their will. Then, I realized, that life was short. Know what? I can always look for a job when I'm sick or when I can't do any physical activities. :P

I put away my computer, bought out my skis and went to Hilton Falls. The snow was amazing. It took about 5 km before I got my skate-skiing legs back, but after that, I was in the groove! I had forgotten how much I enjoyed skate-skiing. :-))

Strength 1:03:00 [2]

After about 4 months of procrastination, I finally purchased the laminated floors for my condo today. But no one told me that they only deliver to 'curb side' and only during a 4 hour window. So rather than paying the delivery charge and still have to hang around to wait for them, I decided to rent a van and pick up the floors myself. 850 square feet works out to be 62 cases of 25 lb each.

I had to put them on the dolly at the store, wheel it to the van, move it from the dolly to the van, move it from the van to the elevator, and from the elevator to the condo, which just happens to be the furthest !#$@# one from the elevator. And each time, it goes on the dolly and off the dolly. So, though a 25 lb case does not seem that heavy, it's amazing how heavy it gets when you do it 620 times. Oh well, who needs to go to the gym to do weights. :)

Hike/Walk warm up/down 30:00 [1]
shoes: Easton Cross Trainer

Left foot joints were pretty stiff today. So I just did a slow stretching walk.

I had a good time at the dentist today... I know, sounds like an oxymoron. Perhaps it's as good as a time anyone can have, while lying almost upside down having one's teeth cleaned with an ultra-sonic-super-duper thingy and sharp things scraping on one's teeth. The good time is from good conversations with the folks at that office.

I heard all about Bent's story on their weekend Adventure Race. His story reminded me of the saying 'Shoot first, ask questions later'. We all know that some orienteers have a style of 'Run first, read the map and instructions later'. But perhaps the best way to describe Bent's style is: 'run first, run some more, run in a circle, run back and forth, and then at some point someone will remind him to read the map and instructions' ;-)

New Body Jam Release class this week. Lots of cardio, :-) I might have snap my neck a little too hard in one of the moves - it's a bit sore. :P
