Orienteering 1:48:12 [4] 10.9 km (9:56 / km)
ahr:148 max:207

lost my SI stick and the garmin apparently didn't record the map. the garmin pisses me off more than the stick, honestly. had a couple good routes, but also had a few moments i was genuinely curious about reviewing. put another way, i also had some real bad routes. think i had one where i might've been looking at the wrong end of the compass. one real bad route, one or two sub par ones, but otherwise some decent orienteering. 26 minutes and change spent looking for the stick, i'll call it 85:00 on the day, ~6.3mi. the 207 max HR is clearly hogwash.

bah, pissed. the no track thing really burns my toast. at least i have splits. only had to make two guesses - 7-8-9 was one big split, and i had to eyeball the division at 8. from 9 to 10 i got within sight and 20 feet from the flag before learning i lost my stick and taking a split, so that was actually pretty close. rounded up a bit for being a putz.

the damn thing says it's memory is full, and it's only got the 1:48 race, and a 38 minute run. the memory can hold ~3:30 at one sample/second. and i can see the breadcrumb trail on the map, i think. i'm convinced the data's in there.

and i can view the laps on the map. so i'm right, which is a bucket of helpful.

-- lost the maps on the watch before i had a chance to copy 'em. all i have left are lap distances, in miles

Climbing (Gym) 1:30:00 [3]

a step or two down from rockin' it tuesday, but decent. perhaps yoga is the key. buncha 2's and one or two 3's. and slacklining. hit the new(ish?) falafel place in davis afterwards. good, but too close to anna's.

Running 37:14 intensity: (6 @0) + (2 @1) + (33:06 @3) + (4:00 @4) 6.63 km (5:37 / km) +173ft 5:24 / km
ahr:156 max:164

goal was 9min/mi at 150ahr. heart was a little beaty, but the pace was spot on.

breathing got a little weird about three miles in. i was going slow enough that i was only breathing in or out every fourth footfall, but when breathing in i had definitely gotten everything i was going to get by the third step. trying to continue breathing in and not on the fourth footfall was super uncomfortable. i've always had the lung capacity/efficiency of a hamster, but i usually only notice it when it's cold. i packed an inhaler back in 'nam, but only really used it during ice hockey. warm today though, but humid. huh.

yogi 1:00:00 [3]

with two new rock gyms opening in the near future, metro's trying to step up their amenities game. ergo, yoga. being meant for climbers, it was definitely pitched at the right speed. not ridiculously aggro-yoga-y, nor overly mellowed out. only downside was the typical yoga one - the mat's usually sweat soaked by the end and offers no traction, turning almost every move into core powa hour. i could get used to this

Climbing (Gym) 1:15:00 [3]

and then killin in the gym. bagged four v3's with solid progress on a fifth, and crushed a fistful of V2's in style. fluid on the slackline, too. yoga power? perhaps.
