finally decided to step up to blue middle at NAOCs after doing satisfactorily at Pawtuckaway.
and i'm going to have to skip the warrior dash this weekend, work just sauntered up to my weekend, stuck a flag in it, and claimed it for god and country. might be able to sneak out for boojum given it's proximity to the office, though. not too heartbroken about missing the dash - $40 entry instead of $90 seemed peachy, but add in four hours total drive, $35+ gas, and - just found this out - $20 for parking, i'm okay missing out
ndobbs' and my (read: ian's) gps routes from the WHNO
I'll thrown the routes on the map to make sure, but there's one ugly swamp chunk with a delightful collecting feature leading into it that I think got both of us. It's not so big that it was inevitable to cross, but still amusing that it got both teams.

some alright boldering, and some good slacklining. finally nailed some V3's (three of 'em) and a half-dozen v2's. 11 laps of slacklining. wonder how long it would take to slackline a mile.

making amends - ended up going out to dinner with The Girl and not running home yesterday. no discomfort today.. tried - and struggled - to go slow enough to hit 75% max HR - 142bpm. Didn't really succeed - doesn't take much to distract me, and i speed up. turns out i need to get down to almost 9:30/mi to hit that low. slooooow. took less than a minute to recover to 100bpm afterwards. cool weather helped

a weird run to work. had a stitch the third step out the door and it stuck with me the whole way. can't say i was sad to see red lights. also, i kept thinking i was going slow (9min/mi) and looked down to see ~8min/mi and 160+bpm. weird. finally managed to rein it in after the two-mile mark. kinda.
been feeling like crap (or more accurately, not crap) gastrointestinally since immediately after the WHNO. i definitely ate a standard ben-bbq serving (read: too much) and then went hard trying to hang on to ian/giacomo/neil's coattails. been feelin' varying levels of nonspecific gut-discomfort since. might've been neil's botulism-special hot-day-in-the-car pizza, but he and JJ were no worse for the wear. must be my fair constitution.
warning, the first sentence of that last paragraph might've been TMI.
i want to write a script that will generate an arbitrary line-o to work/home for a given distance. and spit out a map. between any two points, really. just need to rustle up some intersection/route/length data in a handy form.
