Orienteering race 1:11:09 [3]
Paid for yesterday's run with very exhausted legs today. Part way through the first map (~20min into the race), felt horrible and ready to pass out. That in combination with my hands being about to fall off I decided I'd drop at the map exchange. However, once there I changed my mind as I figured best to atleast get in the technical training even if I'm walking (plus the blood circulation had finally reached my frozen hands).
A good race by Mick had me chasing towards the end, yet the gap remained constant. Gave him congratulatory remarks in passing as he came out of the second to last control, knowing he'd bettered me. In retrospect I feel tremendously quilty now as Mick then forgot about the "go"-control and headed straight to the finish. Had he stayed his course he would have finished 7th instead of me, maybe even a rank higher given his 30sec gap on me going into the last control. Regardless, Congrats to Mick on an awesome run!
