My calf is still sore but it didn't bother me to much.
I was doing ok until control 12. Then I mis-interpreted a large rock. I though it was mapped as a large rock but it wasn't. I went off in the wrong direction and wandered in the thick pine forest (white on the map) looking at all the 1m high rocks (none on the map), looking for 1.5 meter rock. Eventually, I ran out of rock and went back. I finally realized what must have happened then went right to the control.
Things were going ok until the last control where I apparently just spazzed. I hit the wrong trail and turned the wrong way. I realized what I had done and cut over to the correct trail, only it wasn't the correct trail. I ran do it a way until I realized everything was off. I finally went cross country and ended up confused past the finish near the road. Again I went the wrong way on the trail. Finally I took a bearing from the finish which I could see, figured out where I was and went to the control. I lost abut 5 minutes.
Basically a decent run turned bad. I went from 2nd to 3rd place as a result.

Calf still sore so I only did some easy warm up. Plan was to run easy but clean. I wanted to eliminate hesitation.
I was slow but clean. the woods were much greener than mapped which helped slow everyone else down.

Orienteering (red:mid final trollcup) 39:52 [3] 4.2 km (9:30 / km)
shoes: O' Icebuds 2014

I decided to run harder this event. I was also sloppier but overall did better and was faster. I was happy with my run. My calf was still bothering me.

This was the playoff game. As a 4 seed we were playing the #1 seed.
I only played about a 1/2 game before I strained my right calf. Since I was competing this weekend I stopped right away and didn't play anymore.
We ended up losing badly 9-2. Oh well.
