Very poor choice of terrain for a middle distance. Given the weather, not a good course setting. There was no technical map reading involved. The only choices were: Were you cold/wet enough to run around the streams, and were you fed up enough with the green to try to avoid it which you can.t. Part of the course was a long sprint, the other part was just blind compass work in the green.
I crossed 7 major streams on the course with the depth between 1-2.5 feet deep. Did I mention that it was about 30 degrees out. It was not fun freezing your feet legs repeatedly. Myself, like others, couldn't get our shoes off after the course because the shoe laces were frozen.

Rainy and cold out. I tried to warm up but really didn't. Started off slow. My glassed fogged up before I had gone 100 meters. I took them off and carried them in my hand the whole time. Very hard to read the map. Couldn't see details and had to stop every time I needed to see the map. Another person passed me right before #1. We both ended up skipping number 4. In my case it was all me. I never even saw it. Screwed up number 7 by going up the wrong gully that had a stream in due to all the rain.

We played a tough team and was able to hold them off for the win. We are now 4-0 this season. It was really cold inside where we played. One team mate pulled a muscle and I just played poorly (never fully warmed up).

We had the day off because of a light snow. it only snow about 2 inches and much of that melted as it wasn't that cold. Went out after the snow and shoveled my driveway and my neighbors. Mostly just pushed the snow rather than having to actually shoveling. Driveways are 50 meters long.

I did something to my back this morning. It was feeling better so I went for a treadmill run. Not to far in my I started feelling my back so I slowed down then stopped after only 1/2 mile.

Since the back was bothering me I decided to ride the bike which is no exercise on the back.
