Note
(rest day)

At work late and drove back to Penfield, so no exercise today.

Running 40:00 [2] 3.5 mi (11:26 / mi)

Since I couldn't compete because of my arm, I did some jogging 3 minutes after the Billygoat started. Ended up catching up to 3 people before turning around and exploring another trail. Then settled in at the refreshment stop to watch people come through. Zach did well, and Luke and Patty had a great first half and finished well under the time limit, despite the long-ish course, and Patty coming off of yesterday's Muddy Sneaker.

ROC 90 minute Score-O at Black Creek Park

Wasn't concerned about score, so I ran the part of the park that I am least familiar with. Forced myself to walk every time that I hit mud, standing water, or excessive roots/rocks, in order to make sure that I would not take another tumble with my freshly stitched arm.

Was very slow, but kept plodding and accomplished about what I thought I could (had expected to get one more before the finish).

Running race 13:13 [4] 1.47 mi (8:59 / mi)

Dirt Cheap Trail Race, sort of...

Started out comfortably as the course was on the wide, mowed trails at the start. We cut into the narrower area and looped back not too far from the start where we were on the wider trails briefly. We came down a hill with some roots and I was cautious. We got to the bottom and I was able to open it up a bit, when I suddenly hit a root and couldn't keep my balance. I stuck out my forearm to break the fall, and landed pretty hard. As I got up to continue, I noticed a nice little gush of blood coming out. I had managed to reopen most of the wound from the Flying Pig. So, I had to drop out of my second race of the year (and second of my life) and wander back to the start. So many people asked if I was OK! (I was surprised how many people were behind me - I had actually been doing quite well). One woman had tissues that I was able to use to stop the bleeding.

I ended up getting wrapped by the EMTs when they arrived just after the leaders finished. The leaders included Zach, who grabbed 4th place. Then I dropped Z back at UR and drove to urgent care. The doc there didn't want to put stitches in because of the risk of infection with restitching a recent wound, so he sent me to the ER. I went home and met Chris, and decided on Highland, which was good until the nurse shift change right after I was sutured (only 3 this time) which caused me to wait almost another hour just to get cleaned up and bandaged.

Running warm up/down 5:00 [2] 0.5 mi (10:00 / mi)

Just a brief w/up before the race.

Biking 15:40 [3] 5.0 mi (3:08 / mi)

P=201, C=76

With the trail run tomorrow, I was just going to cruise a bit with 200 pacer, but after I warmed up, I saw fouser atop the leaderboard at 15:58 and knew I could knock that off.

Biking 20:27 [3] 6.01 mi (3:24 / mi)

P=197, C=73

Started with 210 pacer, but my ghost seemed beatable as he was hanging out there, so I opened a lead and coasted in the last mile.

Biking warm up/down 5:00 [2] 1.25 mi (4:00 / mi)

P=128, C=61
Y still has the old dragon game - only 8,947 points

Biking warm up/down 2:00 [2] 0.5 mi (4:00 / mi)
