Mostly easy run over to the Y, thru the Lincoln Park trails to the new playground area and home. Kept it under 8:30 for the first 2.5 miles, then wanted to make sure I was under that for the last mile, but realized that under 8:00 would be easy to achieve, so made it closer to 7:30 instead. Got to add the small efforts when I have the ability to do so.
Running around during the Royal Comet invite. The main part was the run during the 100s and 400s and IHs when I ran 15A-Calkins-Pinnacle and back to RH, doing 6 x 1.5 minute pickups with 1.5 min recovery jogs. Also did some running around the outside of the track while spectating.
The highlight and lowlight of the day both came in the first two races. The meet started with the girls steeplechase, and Val ran a great race by herself to win, breaking the meet record by almost 7 seconds.
Next was the boys steeplechase and Zach got cutoff going up for the first water jump and landed awkwardly and facing the outside, rolling his ankle down the incline. He made it another lap before I told him to stop. It turns out he has a broken tibia and is in a cast for an undetermined amount of time. I hope it heals cleanly, so he can resume the massive improvement he had going on.
Running around during the JV meet at Thomas. Much of this was done during the 100 and start of the hurdles, when I looped up past St. Paul's and came across a couple of girls smoking in the woods.
"Day of Caring" - did some painting of a garage at the Carmelite Monastery. Annoying "strike zone" painters meant that I spent almost the whole time on a step ladder, which was almost tall enough to safely reach the peak (I did reach the peak).
Afterwards, there was a stop at Applebee's for some half-price boneless before rushing to Luke's game to keep score. So, no run was accomplished today - I should have planned a run for the morning.
No time for a run today as I went from work to Thomas for our meet against Fairport, then on to my class. Both the boys and girls lost to Fairport, but not nearly as badly as expected. Z ran 4:54 in a windy mile, then bounced back for a 10:28 3200 and a 2:24 in the 4x8 shortly after.

Mostly easy run during Luke's baseball practice, but I did do 6 x 1 minute pick-ups during this. Limitation on speed during pick-ups was the legs/hips/groin, not fitness or whatever.
