Stumble! Wow, I'm pooped. That was interesting. The windows were a new thing for me...the second window I definitely did not do in a good order. More detail on this event later ... upload track later (watch died.) Beautiful woods. Got a towel! Fun traveling down w Sandy F. :)
Goal was to not follow people, do it myself. People were distracting but I managed to attain my goal! Still my pace was faster than normal and I guess seeing people ahead of me did help me find things more quickly.
Okay, this is truly embarrassing… At the finish when I downloaded, my splits show that I missed a control. I was sure I got the control and Sandy even backed me up saying she had seen me near the control that I had missed. I was a little confused in the 2nd window. Anyway we straightened everything out, thanks to Valerie, and I went home feeling good. Then I woke up in the middle of the night… Looked at the map again… And realizd that I in fact had not gone to that control! I feel like such an idiot. So in fact I mispunched or DNFd or whatever. So, Julie, you did beat me! I think it's time to start taking some ginkgo supplement. My brain was just so completely fried after this. Thanks to poor Valerie for putting up with me.
As far as I can tell, my splits on AP are correct until after the final window - between #14-18, because I skipped one in there so my splits should shift towards the finish (they are correct, just not paired up with the correct control after that window.) So control #19's time is really for 20, 20's is for 21, etc. 1:11 was for the last control, and :06 was to the finish.
