Orienteering Meet race 1:40:17 [5] *** 13.4 km (7:29 / km)
spiked:26/27c

Rocky Mt. Goat at Remarkable Flats... It was a blast is all I can say. After I lost the main pack Rich K and his dog Rosie caught me at 9 and we wen t back and forth, I did help him a bit when he was near the circle I kinda pointed him in the right direction. But he was a stronger runner then me so I could not get past him, so we just went along till #24 where I could not see the control in a pile of rock and moved to the next one and it had Swampfox's training tape of blue and orange or pink, so I thought it was gone and then I went back to where it was supposed to be and a couple of runners came to it. I took a south route around the bay of cows and Rich went north. So we continued together and hit the last control and I said let's just go in together as a tie. Great course as usual and fast times for everyone. Two years ago at this Goat, I developed my bad IT band syndrome, but now it's much better after this goat.

Orienteering Meet 41:53 [5] *** 5.7 km (7:21 / km)
spiked:18/18c

One Man Cowboy Relay.... At medicine bow . It was a four map motola basically. The first three loops were all around a small area with one control on all three courses. It was a cool, wooded and rock area. Then off to the fourth loop which went into the open after crossing back through the woods. I ended up in 8 th and crystal prizes to the top ten. Hard fast workout / race.

Running 22:00 [3] 2.0 mi (11:00 / mi)

Cool down with Jon to the west. We then decided to be adventurous and drive that road out. Well it was 4 wheel drive type road at spots. Only bottomed out a couple of times. We then got to the river crossing and we could walk through but there were some big rocks that we couldn't move so we backtracked out...bummer..I also left my phone by the river and then ran back down the hill a half mile to get it. Point to remember don't follow a guy with a cracked windshield. Back to town for shower, Internet and dinner at a Mexican restaurant.

Orienteering Meet race 43:53 [5] *** 5.2 km (8:26 / km)
spiked:9/10c

Daze 3 and it was a fast start out of the blocks again and it was a long down hill run to a little knoll on a ridge. After this it back and forth with GT through every control but one, where he should of taken me, but he overshot the 9th control a bit and it was a uphill slog to the 10th control. I went high and he contoured around. This was a the day for JP as won today's event. Awesome weather and great course. Even there is a lot of following in a mass start you are always looking for a way to move ahead with better routes and efficient climb. Also at some point you are alone. More events in the next two days. I also feel that the altitude is getting easier on me.

Orienteering Related 1:50:00 [2] *** 4.0 km (27:30 / km)

Memory O with Pete and Erin. I had the first control and a long one and overshot by 200 meters. My next one I had a hill that had so many small on the map boulders that I could see them on the map. Others were fine. A looming storm in the distance help end the affair and off to town for the usual shower, library and dinner.

Orienteering Meet race 51:28 [5] *** 5.3 km (9:43 / km)
spiked:11/13c

The new yellow pine map at 1:10,000 scale. Nice mixture of open and woods. I ran through the campground and was shocked by what it looked like, I mean after all the years of camping there, drinking and socializing, it was ad to see. Hopefully it will be open again and back to full of orienteer's doing all things mentioned and some :)

But the meet today started as a long trail run and then up hill of course. It was open pretty much till the sixth control. I fumbled this control and Glen T passed me. I was faked out by rock early going to 7 and then was fine from there. Should of maybe taken the road then up to the control and made it simple. Another great course and hard workout, and I mean hard that it's high Altitude, and hard running.

Happy Jack map and training two man partner memory O with JP, and I only lost one beer when I forgot which way to turn after crossing a creek and had to ask for the map. Good time though. The showers still rock on campus and the library in town still works for Internet.

Orienteering Meet race 54:06 [5] *** 6.4 km (8:27 / km)
spiked:14/14c

First day of mass start races in Laramie, Wy, Ye haw. It was a blast as we all ran out of the starting blocks. I headed down from the hill at the start to avoid climb. It was sort of a follow festival, but always trying to make better mini route choices to move ahead. It was tough to run any up hills and overall one hell of a workout.. We than had lunch under the shade of a nice big pine tree before the afternoon training.

JP and I decided to do partner memory O on the Plaines of Despair map. It was really nice out and we had blast taking turns memorizing the next leg. I did fail a couple of times when I was close in the circle to remember the clue. I owe Jon a couple of beers for each time asking him for the map to relocate. On to a shower at my favorite place on campus. Dinner tonight at the microbrewery called the Altitude in Laramie. In the past the beer was awesome. Just ask Orlyn we have downed a few pitchers in the past :)
