Orienteering Meet race 1:25:35 [5] 7.4 km (11:34 / km) +300m 9:37 / km
shoes: Icebug black 2

Day 2 flying pig. Long distance event. Good start till there was this weird trail junction to #5 that messed me up and I lost about 5 minutes on this leg. The bad control was #10 where smart orienteers take the trail around to the spur. Not Me, I went fairly straight and it was super slow. I need to quit having such tunnel vision when looking at legs.
Not too terrible of a run and looked to be 5 th on the green course.

Orienteering Meet race 1:02:07 [5] 4.4 km (14:07 / km) +240m 11:06 / km
shoes: Icebug black 2

Middle distance First day of the flying pig.
Bear creek scout reservation.
Pretty good run going until I dropped way too soon off the trail to get #4.
On 5 I went way to the east to cross the river and climb up and down a bunch of reentrants that were not on the map, even though they looked the same as on the map. Sucked up to much energy and the calfs were not conditioned for running up hills. Overall poor day to start the A meet season.
Lots of knee high river crossings and climb marked this muddy day.

Lakewood O Meet, first one of the regular season. I am amazed at how fast some guys run in our woods. I stayed steady with only a couple of errors, one being the first control, not sure where I was at on the river and missed some easy detail having to check to the south first than head the right direction. On the other I ran too high in the green and missed spoting the control, had to circle back. Getting that out of the system now is a good idea.

Yellow course as sprint training. Could not get the legs to appreciate what we were doing.

Orienteering Related 20:00 [2] 1.0 km (20:00 / km)

control pickup and 3 of mine from the opposite direction.
