Orienteering Meet race 38:31 [5] *** 4.1 km (9:24 / km) +100m 8:22 / km
spiked:12/12c

Middle Distance Sprague Brook Park South of Buffalo New York. Quick and clean. Funny that the course started with a 40 foot drop into a creek, kinda trashy, but after that it opened up into nice and fast woods. Lots of trails and really up and around the steep creek bed. We camped last night in the park and it was quiet and peaceful night, except for the harley motobike roaring through, looking for a campsite. A bit of rain, so it was really humid all weekend.

Orienteering Meet race 13:40 [5] *** 2.4 km (5:42 / km) +30m 5:22 / km
spiked:14/14c

Sprint at Sprague Brook Park. Run in shorts and shoes. Not very technical, so just run like hell. The sciatia nerve is a major probem warming up all weekend, but after the first 100 meters or so, I don't think about it til the end.

Orienteering Related race (Canoe O) 1:05:00 [4]

Canoe O with Jim H. We started out fine and then it was time for me to run down 5 or more controls til I returned to the boat. We were ahead of 2 fast boats till we hit the missing control and wasted to much time looking for it. This course was on the Genoese River and the Erie Canal.

Orienteering Meet race 22:45 [5] *** 2.5 km (9:06 / km)
spiked:10/10c

Sprint A and it was at Webster Park. Nice and fast. .

Orienteering Meet race (Relays) 24:00 [5] *** 3.6 km (6:40 / km)
spiked:23/24c

This was three 1.2 relays mass start training. There were breaks between each one. The controls were sprint controls, with people moving all around.
I crossed a river in all three relays. Fun and fast and my legs were getting a bit sore.

Orienteering Related 29:00 [3] 2.0 km (14:30 / km)

Donut exercise. Look for the controls with a white out of a circle around the control. On a sad not I did not do the Mt Bike O, because it was pouring rain at the time I was there.

Orienteering Meet race 19:59 [5] *** 2.3 km (8:41 / km)
spiked:9/10c

Sprint A at Letchworth Park. Fun sprint and only a little trouble with one control where I drifted a bit high.

Orienteering Meet race 12:04 [5] *** 1.5 km (8:03 / km)
spiked:7/7c

Fun Fast and it had a couple of the contro;s from sprint A, but they were taken in different directions.

Orienteering Meet 1:50 [5]

30 controls for the string O , Its fast and hard to punch so many controls at high speeds.

Orienteering Meet race 23:18 [5] *** 2.5 km (9:19 / km) +100m 7:46 / km
spiked:10/11c

Durand Eastman Park...Sprint only ran. It was cool but slow and tired, I could focus on the map near the end and could not tell if I was looking for a spur or a reentrant.

Orienteering Related 47:00 [3]

Partner Memory exercise with Jim Hall. He had never done it and after the first control he was much better. I missed one of the five control I was looking for. This is a fun exercise.

Orienteering Related 1:50 [5]

String sprint O with 30 controls. Kinda crazy but good for punch practice.

Orienteering Meet race 22:45 [5] *** 2.2 km (10:20 / km)
spiked:12/15c

Nice sprint with aonly a few bobbles. this was too soon after eating and it was super hot. It took a while to recover and then went out on a training map for 25 minutes.

Orienteering Meet race 12:11 [5] *** 1.7 km (7:10 / km)
spiked:12/12c

The shorter sprint and I did not keep the map. It had a few controls I already picked in sprint A

Orienteering Meet race 1:00:55 [3] *** 6.0 km (10:09 / km)
spiked:16/17c

Dusk to Night O at Mendon Ponds. Mass start and after 2 minutes I put my light on to read the map. I only had one error where I got on the wrong trail and it took a fewe minutes to figure it out. I was 55 seconds overtime so I lost points but it was because I got greedy at ther end and thought I would pick up pone more easy control, just a bit more distance then expected to the finish. Fun time with cold ice cream for a treat after.

Orienteering Meet race 1:11:51 [5] *** 5.7 km (12:36 / km) +85m 11:44 / km
spiked:8/12c

Day 2 Us Champs. I just could not get myself together as I spiked the rootstock at No 1, but failed to look tucked behind the rootstock was the control. No 2 I had to reclocate, 3 off to the south 55 meters, 6 too much to the north west and had to waste minutes getting back on track..so that about how it went. So much for constant contact.
