Orienteering Meet race 46:34 [5] *** 4.3 km (10:50 / km) +120m 9:30 / km

Day 3 middle distance event at Hueston Woods. Once again I could not figure out the maze of trails at the start, but after the first control had a decent run but seem to over shoot a number of controls. No. 9 was a maze of trails to get to the control and I was caught in the green. I should of made this a simple control, but I didn't. Still I finished 5th on the Green course for the day which I would say was a major improvement. Now the score with Glen T, is Glen 2, Me 1 too be continued.

US Ultra Long Champs and I was dumb from the first control. after that I started to pick the pace and caught Chris who started 4 min ahead of me. Only to lose it going to no 12 when I mad a serious parallel error. Not much speed at the end but once again I felt good to be out and at this length of time racing is very encouraging for the season.

Orienteering Meet race 39:26 [5] 3.9 km (10:07 / km) +105m 8:55 / km
ahr:162 max:187

Flying Pig weekend and first of 3 meets. This was a middle distance at Miami U in Oxford Ohio. The course started on campus and then moved into a wooded event after 4 controls. This was far from an error free run, but it felt good to be orienteering again even though I do not feel in very high physical shape. Very poor route choice to no. 6 as I went straight at it but climbed a hill for no good reason. Also going to No. 10 and 15 I was not readin the map very well and that cost a few minutes at each control.

XC-Skiing 1:07:00 [3] 15.0 km (4:28 / km)

Damn I hit my ass hard on the ice..This was the worst ever in xc skiing for me. Justs caught an edge on some frozen ski ruts, stupid me for trying to make it up for not skiing yesterday, when I should of been jogging. But skiing at this time of year it can be so awesome. My comp this weekend is probably going to kick my butt, so I am going to only run as fast as I can comfortably read the map and see what happens.

Blueberry ski area....very nice conditions and skied parts of the trail that I have not skied in 14 years ( last red earth race) because it is a classical only trail, but ok today for skate. Excellent weather.

Nice easy ski at the Noque trail in Marquette , Mi on a sunny warm day with Twohey who was classical skiing. The trail was in pretty good shape for this time of year. I was a bit wobbly as I have not skied in 4 weeks.
