Orienteering Meet race 12:30 [3] *** 2.0 km (6:15 / km) +25m 5:53 / km
spiked:12/13c

North American sprint champs. Fast course and I started just 1 minute behind Glen ans 2 minutes behind Stanisslov. I knew the direction of the first control and I still went left of the building instead of right. Anyway looking at the splits, I was still in 3rd or 4th place at the 12 control. I must of spiked the control and finished in to win the North American Sprint champs in M-55. There was still a very fast guy from England was first and was smoking fast the whole 3 days. Great events for the weekend and fun times. Hopefully my O has now turned around. After the event Jan and I headed to the US for a beer run and other things (Harry-tour). We camped in Nelson at night at the city campground. We walked the mini city and stumbled upon a band playing at a bar and had an interesting Hemp beer. On to Vernon tomorow.

Orienteering Meet race 54:04 [5] *** 5.3 km (10:12 / km)
spiked:8/12c

North American Champs LONG.... I had plans to start slow and get into the map. I bobbled from the begining and than on some long legs started to heat it up. The last 2 controls were not good as no 11 I drifted to the west to avoid some climb and No 12 I was off by 150 meters. Though probably my better run and get my O back soon.

Orienteering Meet race 47:00 [5] *** 4.0 km (11:45 / km)
spiked:10/12c

Thomas event and we were late....so we had our own event for loser buying a case of beer. I guess I should buy the beer cause I thought that it was 4:30 start somehow I missed the 1430 start time in Canada. We were 40 minutes late and they had maps for us so we rushed off into the Box right off. I made a 180 degree error and a 90 all in one course. OUCH! It seemed like it was more fun and nav challange with out the crowds.

Hiking 2:30:00 [3]

Group hike from wilderness campground on trail not knowing how far and where it would end up. It was all up hill and we ended up at the top of a big ski hill. Nice view and some watermellon that Maricel packed up. The buildings were open at the top so we borrowed a Sudko and finished before we could head down. Back to campsite and snacks dinner and a short hike to the 60 foot log sticking out in the lake that you could walk out on .
