Back to L-Peak for more loops. It froze last night, so it was a go. then it started snowing and it made the skis very slow.

XC-Skiing race 19:48 [5] 5.0 km (3:58 / km) +20m 3:53 / km
ahr:160 max:171

Last Wed night race for the season and it was a sloppy mess. Soupey too. The temps were about 37 degrees and unbelieveably that they held the series with 6 out of 7 races on the man made snow loop. MY skis had a black slime that needed cleaning on the base from skiing in such goop.
Steve needed to beat PJ for the third place medal which he did and more taking first our division. I was doing ok and took the lead on the 2nd place guy in our division and was ahead of him and thought I was done after 4 laps. I stood there and stopped my watch as he went by me and it took me a bit too figure that I needed to do one more lap. He was the only one who passed me while I stopped and damn I felt stupid. Kinda like not punching the go control with a chance to win the US Middle Champs in Ski O. Well hope to get these mistakes out of the way before the season starts.

XC-Skiing 50:00 [3] 12.0 km (4:10 / km)

XC-Skiing 1:42:00 [3] 25.0 km (4:05 / km) +300m 3:51 / km

Skied from the hotel to the start of the pre-birkie and up the race course again. Legs still tired trying to ski up hills. Awesome ski trail and will see it again in 12 days.

XC-Skiing 3:10:00 [3] 45.0 km (4:13 / km) +610m 3:57 / km
ahr:133 max:154

Tri annual ski of the whole birkie trail post pre birkie race. Man my legs were and are tired. But the course was in excellent shape, groomed to perfection. Interesting that my max HR today was my average yesterday.

XC-Skiing race 2:42:00 [5] 42.0 km (3:51 / km) +630m 3:35 / km
ahr:156 max:175

Pre -Birkie, started on Lake Hayward and headed in reverse of the Birkie. It was 4 degrees at the start and windy. I kept fairly motivated and warm the whole time and keep a good pace as monitored by the HR. Though near the end the Avg HR slipped the longer I went. Good time and Steve skied it in 2:25.
Hot tub at the hotel was very welcome. Now two more days of skiing up here.

XC-Skiing 1:05:00 [3] 16.0 km (4:04 / km) +211m 3:49 / km
ahr:133 max:158

Birkie trail and they had about 2 new ungroomed inches of powder. Nice warm up ski for tomorrow on my new fishers that have holes in the tips.

XC-Skiing race 13:45 [5] 5.0 km (2:45 / km)
ahr:162 max:171

Wed night race and yes they held it in decent conditions on the man made circle again for the 5 th out of 6 th race. I should of done better after Steve got tripped in the first 75 meters and I passed him. He made a great comeback after that fall. But I could not hang so tough tonight.

XC-Skiing 50:00 [3] 15.0 km (3:20 / km)

Warm up and cool down before and after the race.
