Objectively not a great course for me today- just mentally wasn't in the game at all. But, on the bright side, my foot didn't start to hurt until the last 2 or 3 controls, and even then it wasn't the excruciating pain that I've had. More like a 4 or 5 on the pain scale, so that's a huge win. And it went away fairly quickly once I finished instead of lingering all afternoon. I've been seeing a PT for about 2 weeks now, 2x/week, for ultrasound and stretching of the foot, and after each session I'm completely pain free for at least the next 2-3 days, which is a HUGE improvement. And I can walk right afterward, too, which is a nice change from the cortisone shots (that seemed to wear off after a month or so, anyway).

So, all in all, not a great outing, but lots of cause for hope that this year will be better and I might actually be able to make some progress and not have to have foot surgery. Also, being able to walk without feeling like there's a sharp rock under my foot with every step has been magical.

Katherine had a nice time on the first half of the white course, then decided she was tired and wanted to go back (from just about the furthest point on her course, naturally), but she managed to make it back under her own power. I figured that 2.8k was pushing it for her little legs and attention span, but hey, she's only 4, so not bad! We also promised her that she'd get to play on the playground, but by the time I got back, she'd just finished her snack and we needed to start heading home to meet up with a friend who was coming over to help us with fixing up the drywall in preparation for re-painting the home office, so she was disappointed by that. I'd assumed that the white course would take her over by that side of the park and she'd just play until it was time to come back to the car, but it seems all of the courses stayed more on the other side of the park.
