orienteering race 54:50 [3] 9.2 km (5:58 / km) +150m 5:31 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#4 - blue)

Showdown at the November Classic.
Phil got out there with the help of a couple of walking sticks, so was unlikely to be a threat.

That left Charlie who started 3 minutes behind me and ran me down at #6. I thought I heard him earlier and kept looking back. We ran together for a bit, then had a route difference and I was just trailing him, but his pace was a little unpleasant for me, so I'd catch him at the controls then he would stretch away again.

On the long leg to 12 I decided to let him go and run my own race, only to see him attacking #13 (Western Bingo) as I left. Should then have been OK, but I lost confidence on the way to #14 in a maze of un/undermappped gorse and he got clear.I then missed #15 (too low) and he probably put more time into me on the last leg, so 6 minutes down.

ITB sore from about #17 and really sore afterwards.

Note
(injured)

Right ITB has come up fairly sore today. Not sure why - I've been up and down stairs a bit I guess.

Lowered seat on bikes, but not game to ride.

Hopefully forced immobility on plane will sort it out in time for the battle of the cripples.

soccer 20:00 [3] 3.0 km (6:40 / km)

So, sitting at my desk, I stretched out my leg and zoof, pain disappeared. Figured I'd go to soccer anyway - I thought I'd have to to make the numbers, but they had found an extra (and very useful) player, so I got to sub a bit.

Didn't try too hard and leg was fine.
They lost a guy (dislocated kneecap) then we got one sent off near the end (Costa who had been in goal), so I finished in goal with a clean-sheet.

3-0.
