orienteering race 44:24 [3] 7.0 km (6:21 / km) +140m 5:46 / km
(sick) shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#3)

NSW Champs, Gardens of Stone NP
Too high at #1, hesitant having run over hill rather than round, could see #2 from #1, then took my eye off it and couldn't find it. Fairly clean after that - lost a smidge going into #5, by dropping down the hill to see what Jo had found, should probably have had a better plan of attack from #9 than check the N side of each rock.

1st ahead of Shingo.

Walk out of the Blue Gum forest - Lyra finally cracked, and I was coming down with a cold so we waited whilst Alexa went to fetch the car.

orienteering race 55:24 [3] 7.0 km (7:55 / km) +310m 6:29 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#3)

Easter day 3 - after a lot of hesitation, picked the radical route-choice on the long leg 1, only to lose 2 minutes at the end going through the cliff line (climbed up over an overhang using a tree).

Fortunately the rest of the top 5 didn't see the route choice and the subsequent mistakes at 2 & 3 left me in 4th and 4th overall, letting Michael B through for 3rd.

I caught Tim Hatley twice - the second time on the start of the long and very hilly 9-10 leg, so I stuck behind him on the uphill and used my longer legs to get away from him on the 400m of downhill.
