4 AM

run 26:35 [2] 2.8 km (9:29 / km) +69m 8:27 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#2)

Pacheco middle distance - run to start. It looks like steep spur gully with not much tree cover.

orienteering race 32:51 [4] *** 4.28 km (7:40 / km) +252m 5:56 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#2)

The event - the map was good,so the main problem was being at the right height and guessing which small rock was the one with the control. Fairly clean run, I think I missed about 3 of the 14 controls.

Felt I was running pretty hard - did slow to a walk on one hill, although they were probably the same speed.
5 AM

run 4:20 [2] 0.65 km (6:41 / km) +13m 6:05 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#2)

Jog back to assembly area.

cycling 2:12:49 [2] 40.67 km (3:16 / km) +375m 3:07 / km

Riding rental hybrid/cruisers with Bill, Brad and my old Canadianes running buddy Dave Harper.

Apparently 17 Mile Drive is one of the classic bits of American road. We did go past a LOT of seals, some sea otters (I think) and the Pebble Beach gold course. Ripper day for riding.

Trying to break the unhealthy habits of teh last few days.
Along the jogging/walking track at Monterey and back.

run 11 [3] 2.3 km (5 / km)
shoes: Asics GT 1000 #2

Hotel to aquarium - racing in my jeans to get to the appointed tour time (after forgetting my ticket).

run 1:01:11 intensity: (1:00:58 @3) + (13 @4) 13.38 km (4:34 / km) +423m 3:57 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#2)

Tried to reprise an old run at El Rancho San Antonio. I recognised about 30% of the run from the early 2000s.

Realised I was going way too slowly when some ultra type ripped past me on the downhill, so after a bit I tried to catch him and we had a good race for about 5km * (when he left me not knowing where I was and exited the park).

* OK, maybe 3km, having looked at the splits
4 AM

run 6:36 [2] 1.05 km (6:16 / km) +26m 5:35 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#2)

Run from eventual car park to park HQ.

Skipping a day forward so that Dropbox stops complaining about my PCs being out of sync.
