Classic distance, Kitchener. Felt very slow starting out, really grinding. Just plodding round until I managed to scratch my right eye AGAIN. This made reading the map even harder - ended up using tracks to get as close as possible to controls, then poking around a bit. Must wear glasses !

Sprint-O Newcastle Uni. Started slowly and never really got fast - very complex, struggling a bit reading map, and a few dumb mistakes too (memorising wrong control number...).

Middle distance at Pelaw Main - lot of fun, got a little bit more flow than the morning. Caught Ian Jones a few before the spectator control, then we both lost contact with map (I followed him along "ride"). Took a very conservative relocation route and then ran like buggery to catch him, but never saw him again.

Every now and then (usually once a year), someone reminds me about the alternative route around Naremburn, even though I'm convinced its way longer. This year it was Stix.
