9 AM

Running 42:15 [3] 4.5 mi (9:23 / mi)
shoes: Wave Nirvana 3

I was beat - sore - fatigued, before I ran this morning. The only explanation I have is the Flying Pig interacting with my declining abilities. Fortunately, Steve, too, was feeling the same. So we opted for the short run.

This was the first day this year I (we both) wore shorts and a light weight tee. Truly Spring has arrived.

A very fun Sprint (Orienteering style). No mistakes of substance, but very very slow physically. I was sore and tired before I started.

May have set a record today. Not in speed, distance, or any function of running, but rather a quality of the day itself.

My atomic clock sits on the dresser at the foot of my bed. With it I get the most reliable display of time available and fathomable by me. In addition I have the temperature of the room and that of the back yard via a simple transmitter. By its reckoning I can know that at 6:15 am when I awoke it was 65.2° in my bedroom and 18.9° outside. Quite a cool Spring morning.

As we embarked on our routine run, Steve mentioned that we may have broken the 20° record this morning. If that was the record, we did indeed experience the setting of a new one. How's that for two washed up runners in a backwater town? We set records!
